I think it is a great way for parents to be able to see how their child is doing in the classroom. The parent can check the student's grades and what is due the next day or even next week. The site also allows the parents to get to know the teacher better by the about me page. This site is great for students because they have a tone of resources that they can use by going to the teacher website. They can know what is due and what they should be working on just in case they didn't remember or weren't sure on the directions. I am really pleased with my TeacherWeb and think that it will be a great tool for me when I become a teacher.
2. Identify and discuss what you see as the two biggest advantages of designing and using a classroom web site within your teaching activities. Also, identify what you see as the biggest disadvantage of using a class website for instructional activities and why.
The biggest advantages of designing and using a classroom web site within teaching activities is that it allows students to be able to find resources that the teacher has posted on the site that will help the student complete the activity. Another great advantage is that it allows the students to turn homework on the computer or find out what is due when they are absent and weren't able to be there. The disadvantage of using TeacherWeb is that some students take text a different way. They might not understand what they should be doing and aren't able to ask questions if they are confused. Another problem is that students might be looking at different sites when they are suppose to be working on their activity in class and not paying attention to what is going on.
